Hanley Town FC: Season By Season 1972/73

CHAMPIONS AGAIN:

Another excellent season for the club saw the First Team become Staffordshire County League (North) Premier Division Champions, winning the title by six points with just nine points dropped. The League had been increased in size to further enhance it's status so it was a fine achievement to win the league again after being Runners-Up for the previous three seasons. The Reserves again finished third in Division One to give good support to the first team. The club also won the Staffordshire FA Challenge Cup for the first time, beating Roebuck in the final.
