MID-CHESHIRE LEAGUE AND A NEW GROUND:
Hanley Town made the move to the Abbey Lane Ground, renting the land from the Council, and began to develop the facilities, the 2026/27 season will mark 50 years of Hanley Town FC playing at the Abbey Lane Ground. The club also took the plunge into joining the Mid-Cheshire League in the Second Division. At this time the First Division contained local clubs Congleton Town, Kidsgrove Athletic and Milton United.
Hanley Town did well to finish fourth and won both the May Bank Cup (beating Trent Rovers 1-0) and the Mid-Cheshire League Division Two Cup (beating Knutsford 1-0). The Roger Lomas Trophy was also retained. The Sentinel Cup Final was reached but a late winner by Kidsgrove Athletic's Bryan Finney at Vale Park saw Hanley lose 2-1.
The Reserves had another decent season in the County League with a top four finish.
