Hanley completely dominated 40 minutes of the first half creating chance after chance. Town took the lead on 10 minutes when a superb run by man of the match Jake Twyford ended with him firing into the roof of the net.

Hanley kept pressing for a second, Brown glanced a header wide from a Ramsey cross Tommy Van Der Laan headed just over the crossbar so did Joel Stair minutes later. Three times there were goalmouth scrambles inside the visitors penalty area from Kyle Stubbs throws and from corners, Spa defending superbly blocking numerous efforts at goal before scrambling the ball clear.
Devante Ramsey curled an effort inches over the crossbar, Fin Pattison had a goalbound shot brilliantly saved by by Rogerson, Rogerson came to Spa's rescue again a surging run by Town's Jack Sherratt ended with his rasping drive again brilliantly parried away by Rogerson. Hanley's Corey Muirhead latched onto a poor clearance to fire just wide of the Spa post from 20 yards, minutes later Jake Twyford did the same firing inches wide of the post.
Hanley were denied a penalty when Devante Ramsey got to the ball before the Spa keeper before being fouled by Rogerson, goalkick was the decision. Droitwich first shot at goal came on 40 minutes when Lemon hit a 25 yarder comfortably saved by Town keeper Shortehouse. That shot seemed to give Spa a bit of confidence and won a number of corners before the interval.
Hal-Time:
Hanley Town 1 - 0 Droitwich Spa;
Hanley Town, would be punished for all those missed first-half chances. Droitwich would be level with only their second shot at goal, but what a goal it was, Moss made himself some space before letting fly from 22yards the ball finding the top corner via the bar and post, no keeper would have saved that. Still Hanley had most of the possession but now Spa were a threat on the counter. Devante Ramsey run and whipped in cross only needed someone in the six yard box to tap home.

Spa won a number of corners which Town defended well. Joel Stair had an header at the other end heading for the top corner only for Spa keeper to pull off another brilliant save parrying away at full stretch for a corner. But he would not be able to deny Tommy Van Der Laan header finding the corner of the net. Full credit to the visitors they never gave up and their hard work was rewarded with an equaliser, poor defending allowed Thurston to get a shot away just inside the Town penalty area to bounce just out of the reach of the diving Town keeper before finding the corner of the net.
Hanley pressed looking for the winner Max Van Der Laan, Corey Muirhead and Jake Twyford all had shots blocked, another scramble in the visitors six yard box this time ended with two Callum Middleton shots being blocked the second blocked for a corner. But Hanley thought they had won the tie in the 93rd minute Jake Twyford cleverly reading the situation finding himself some space at the back post before controlling the ball and firing a shot through a ruck of players and in off the far post.

But again, two minutes later Spa, who you need to give some credit to for battling on till the end won a penalty Moss despatched the penalty to earn a replay.
