Hanley Town with only one fit defender and numerous players playing out of position lost to a late goal away to Mossley on Saturday.

The first effort at goal came from the home side when M.Fawns effort from distance was tipped around the post by Town keeper Knight. Mossley dominated a lot of the ball but the visitor's were always a threat.

But it was injury ravaged Town who took the lead on 23 minutes when Fin Pattison headed Hanley in front from a corner. Town's makeshift defence kept the home side efforts at goal limited to go in at the interval in front.

Half-Time:
Mossley 0 - 1 Hanley Town:

Three minutes into the second half Hanley should have gone further in front, Town forward Lewis Porter found himself unmarked in the Mossley penalty area only to fire over the crossbar. Two minutes later Mossley's C. Frost glanced an header just wide of the post.

On the hour mark, Mossley keeper F. Madigan pulled off a brilliant save to deny Hanley going 2-0 in front. Five minutes later Hanley keeper Lucas Knight pulled off a superb save himself to deny the home side a leveller.

Unfortunately for Hanley C.Frost headed in the equaliser from the resulting corner. Mossley were now pressing for a winner and got the winner on 90 minutes when C.Frost headed home from a cross.

Hanley Town appeals for a penalty.
